you need to trouble code. get the codes scanned somewhere and tell me what the code is.

I did; it is PO128; which says, Check coolant level; thermostat could be defective; or ECT (engine coolant temperature) sensor defective. I checked the coolant level; is right on full; I don't seem to have a temp gauge; it is a 2007 Escape Hybrid; 58K Just called the dealer I bought it from; have had it for a month; he is going to check with their service dept. Have driven it all over yesterday, does not seem to be running hot.

Another cause can be thermostat is stuck open causing it not to warm up fast enough and/or not getting to full operating temp. I have fixed many (not hybrids) by putting thermostats in them for that code.

I had this problem with my 2007 Ford Escape Hybid...had to replace the electric engine water pump. There are 2 water pumps, one for the electric portion and the other for the internal combustion engine. This took are of the problem. Part is around $300 and is located under the front section of the radiator, passenger side. You'll have to remove the plastic shield to get to it. 1.5hrs.

BTW, there is a class action suit coming to Ford for this problem as it shut down the engine while driving.

I have had this same error code. My 2007 FEH will not start when parked in the sun on hot days. Each time, I went back the next morning (30 degrees cooler) and it immediately started and ran fine. I didn't have any problems last summer. The dealer insisted the battery was bad and changed it. Of course it was cold and rainy. Almost $400 later the problem persists. I have seen blogs from 2009 with this exact situation. Any solutions?
