pipe where the catalytic converter was and every
since my car is doing a lot of crazy stuff smell gas

When you removed the catalytic converter did you also remove a sensor of some sort? If you did, there's your problem. You may need to put a catalytic converter on it, or there may be a way of bypassing it. Any muffler shop will be able to advise you on that one.
