2008 Stuck in Park

Asked by GuruHM9YY Aug 08, 2019 at 05:29 PM about the 2008 Dodge Avenger R/T FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car turns on. The automatic shifter
moves but the transmission will not
actually shift.  I can move the stick to
drive or whatever but the transmission
stays in park regardless of of the stick
being in the drive position. I have
already opened the console and played
with the pink manual shift and it stays
in park even though the stick is in drive.
HELP! Need to shift to neutral yo push
my car.

I would suggest that you raise the driving wheels using an automobile lifting device to perform an emergency maneuver
