why is the Dodge Avenger such a crap car?

the 08 is crap compared to its original "baby viper" state from 95-99. The 08 looks exactly the same as the 08 charger or camaro an got cut off on everything except interior design an luxury. Other than that it still doesnt compare or look as good as the previous versions which were manufactured with chrysler, dodge and mitsubishi parts. ;)

Having worked at a Dodge dealership, the reason is simple. It's a fuckin' Caliber ! Even if you get the slightly bigger 2.5 or 3.0 engine, it's still prone to the horrendus engineering of Chrsyler. Nothing work's properly, the recall just after release was absolutely ridiculous, and transmission related. The car was doomed from the start. Maybe if SRT make's a varient it might be worth while, but I'm sure even they're afraid to have the Avenger name anywhere near their company.
