My G6, V6 has a high idle when cold and for the first 25 seconds it is at 1500

I wouldn't worry about 1500 rpm idle as long as it comes down within 20 or so seconds.

I agree with John. There is nothing wrong so long as the idle comes down with the 20 or so seconds.
