Interior accessories won’t work. Gear shifter stuck in park. Tranny won’t shift to third gear. Battery is drained when driving.

Asked by Bren64 Mar 06, 2019 at 06:49 AM about the 2007 Toyota Matrix Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2007 Toyota Matrix was running fine, no
signs of any issues.  I parked, went into store
and when I started the car to leave it
wouldn’t shift out of park.   None of my
interior accessories worked including the
windshield wipers.   Nothing on instrument
panel works.  My battery drains when driving
and my tranny won’t shift into third gear.
The Toyota Dealership diagnostic resulted in
code: P0500, Vehicle Speed Sensor.
But Toyota stared my internal junction box
was bad but all relays and fuses tested good.
By passing the junction box with a current
resulted in all my accessories working.
All under the hood fuse box relays and fuses
tested good and work properly.
I replaced battery, altinator, and speed
sensor.  My car still in same condition as the
day I returned from store and started it.
No mechanic can figure out what’s wrong
