Kia Spectre passenger airbag off light comes on. What does this mean?

The light comes on when no one is sitting in the passenger seat.  Went off when I sat in the passenger seat.

The system is set to where the air bag will not deploy on the passenger side in a crash, That light tells you it is turned off, when you sit there it goes off because then the air bag is turned on ready to deploy
