1996 Chevy 350/5.7 (with '97 Engine) Low Pressure Switch is not receiving power!

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have replaced my Compressor (bought a new Delphi), orifice tube, drier, AC Control
Unit, and Ac Relay. Flushed out the system and added Freon. The system pressure is
adequate. I've had to put a mechanics switch in where the AC Relay goes for now - in
order to make it work. I DO understand the Compressor will not be cycling on and off -
so am not using the AC much at all..... What I DID DO - I looked at the green wire in
the low pressure switch. From what I understand from the Chilton, it goes to the AC
Control Unit. I looked at the back of my control unit and sure enough the dark green
wire (which is partly brown like it's been burned) doesn't have any voltage either.
Anyone have any ideas? Any what so ever? I'm trying my best to understand the
electrical wiring in my truck, but this is not what I'm use to. I'm use to fixing mechanical
parts on my truck - not electrical. Thank You!!

Well. Since no one could help me here, I was finally able to figure it out. Had a guy who does Electrical come by, for free!! :). Turns out the green wire going to my low pressure switch was broken. I didn't know what to look for, when looking for a broken wire. I do now. It was a simple fix and BAM! AC works like a charm.

Check the blend door actuator that controls temp of air exiting vents. It's the middle one. Take out the ashtray to access it.
