I have 2001 lesabre custom, don't know if the same but I had to take off trim that goes across to the steering wheel (looks like wood), open glove box, there is a long piece next to ash tray and little drawer, 4 screws hold it in, take it off and you can access the light. A lot of trouble to replace a light, but it is not that difficult. Hope this helps, but don't know if they are the same.
