Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Check engine light came on with error
code P0751. I checked the
transmission fluid and it was low. I
dropped the pan and changed the fluid
and filter and gasket and cleared the
code. The car was fine for about a
week. Then the code came
back(P0751) how is this repaired?

Other than replacing the shift solenoid A ,which will either come individually or as a solenoid pack, you don't have a ton of options. Now the good news is that it hasn't given up the ghost it's just sticking. Most likely as soon as that code sets, the transmission goes into a limp mode where it limits speed and disables upshifts or downshifts (usually they will stay in 2nd gear). I'm betting that if it sets that code and you immediately clear it,it will resume normal operation. You can try adding a transmission fluid additive like Trans Tune....something specifically for dissolving varnish and cleaning the valve body and solenoid passages.

Since you said it took a whole week to reset the solenoid can't be bad it just sticks

I was hoping I didn't have to replace the transmission. To do that costs more than the car is worth.
