No. No power, no lights. nothing. When I put it in park, and turned key off lights worked, radio worked. When I turned key on and tried to crank, all power was lost. Had no dimming of headlights beforehand, so I am stumped.

strange. something should make noise if you have battery power, I have a guess but you may not like the answer, how many miles on it.

right at 164k or a bit more. Can't look anymore til it gets home. On a list for towing so will look at it tomorrow.

have you ever changed the timing belt? It had to be changed at least once.

I have only had the car 2 months. Don't know what previous owner did. Not ruling anything out. May end up trying to pursue legal remedy. Have to know what's wrong first.

well,my guess is the timing belt broke which caused the engine to shut off while cruising. and with it broke, it will not start, but it should crank. when broke the engine will spin over like theres no compression ( Really fast ) if it will not crank it is a good possibility that the valves and pistons made contact with each other and one or the other bent, locking up motor.

Alright. Cleared power issue. Severely corroded negative post. Now for engine. Turns over, tries to fire but doesn't. Opened timing belt cover, belt does not have OEM stamp on it, so, it has been changed. Looks good and tight. Haven't manually spun motor yet to see if compression is an issue. Still wondering.

have some one turn it over while you watch belt for no movement at cam or if the belt shows slop or skips, sounds like its out of time.

Belt is tight. No slop or skipping. Marks all line up properly. Compression feels good when manually turned.
