Asked by Jenny May 16, 2016 at 09:57 PM about the 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser Wagon FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My PT is over heating. Just changed the
thermostat 6 months ago. Now the problem is
back again. It doesn't over heat everyday. I need to
help with trouble shooting this.

Has the radiator been removed to clean the debris between the radiator and the a/c condenser? PT Cruisers have lots of issues with overheating and head gasket problems.

Replace your radiator & then make sure both the high & low speeds are working on the electric fan, the low speed will probably be the culprit. In fact check the fan speeds 1st , the low speed must be checked with a cold engine.
