High rpm and loud engine

Hi,
Quick q about my Infiniti g35. Rpm are not coming
down when I decelerate. Its staying pretty high and
become quite noisy. My engine just seems so loud
all the time now. No other noises or problems. No
lights on either. Car accelerates fine. Someone
said it sounds like it's in overdrive but I'll be damn
to find an overdrive switch/button etc. Thoughts?

I have a 2007 G35x that has the same problem right now. There's no warning but I swear it's different than it used to be. The motor sounds loud but simply driving 45-55 mph has the engine at 2000+ rpms. did you find an answer?

Thought I had the same issue but turned out to be a failing wheel bearing that caused the louder than normal operation.
