Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving on the highway, going about 80, everything was fine. Normal
temp, no sputter, fine, then all of the sudden, car dies. Dashboard lights up.
Key. Break. Etc........

When trying start, literally nothing happens besides fan comes on.

What could cause a car to die suddenly while running perfectly fine, and not
crank.

also would a faulty break light switch cause a car to just die out as well? Even though I don't think its that, because break lights work.
