2007 Passat timing chain

My Passat sounds like the timing chain
tensionor has finally given up.  It still starts
and runs but I do not drive it cause shortly
after the oil pressure light comes on.  Are
these related? Or do I have a bigger problem
then just a new timing belt kit and chain and
tensionor kit?

Your 2007 VW has an interference engine which means if the timing belt breaks or jumps several cogs, it will cause severe engine damage. When doing the replacement, make sure it is correctly timed. Concerning low engine oil pressure. That needs immediate attention too. First check your oil level. Then consider the sensor is at fault but attaching a mechanical oil pressure gauge and look for about 35 psi at 2000 rpms and 20 psi at idle, minimum. Replace sender accordingly.
