Volkswagen passat timing chain

I am wanting to buys a 2006 Volkswagen passat
but the people that have it says it needs a timing
chain  I want to to know a couple if things ! Dose it
mess up then fine if it is broke and if not can it be
fixed?  The car only has 123k miles on it ! And
would it be worth m t time and could it be fixed ?

Before you buy it.check out how much a used engine because if that belt broke while the engine was running.1)valves are bent2)heads possably cracked3)i valve may have punctured a piston.the only way to see this is to put another tbelt.THIS IS AN INTERFERENCE ENGINE.
