My 07 buick lucerne cxl. Had a problem with
the waterpump n it cost me 1250 while out
of town n i had to stay in a hotel for 3 nights
so 1550 was this reasonable everyone tells
me no ugh

Google.......changing Northstar water pump I suspect someone has documented the work and it will give you an idea what is involved. The Cadillac with the V8 is almost the same car as your Lucerne and the engine is a tight fit but even at $100/hr it is hard to believe it takes that long to change the water pump.

I did the Google search and it appears you got ripped........unless they replaced more than just the water pump. Videos on UTube indicate it is a 1-2 hour job depending on your skills and tools.
