rear brake light/blinker not working, but lights still work?

Asked by DrGuess Aug 19, 2020 at 10:38 PM about the 2007 Buick Lucerne V6 CXL FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It is for sure not the bulbs, it is the rear right lights.  what is going on when
the lights come on at night, the lights come on in the that part.  the light does
not get brighter when you press on the brake.  the blinker in the dash does a
fast blink, the driver front turn signal works but not the rear.  the brake light
may be tied to also me using the emergency flasher working on all but the
right rear lights.

i feel this should be simple and i should have figred it out by now.  i have
done alot of looking, maybe used the wrong search terms, i keep coming up
blank.

thanks for any help!

It's probably the bulbs. The bulbs for braking and turning have two filaments in them, and they will light up with the one filament working, but the other won't for brakes and turn signals. At least that is what it was for mine, and I had the same difficulties tracking it down thinking the bulbs were good because they lit up.
