Passenger air bag light

my 07 fusion turns on or off automatically depending on weight,its a child safty feature.if it stays off you might have a bad sensor in your seat.

Right. The system requires a certain amount of weight spread across the seat. The idea of the "OFF" light is to let you know that the passenger's bag is disabled because the system doesn't see an adult in the seat.

Depends on the year of the vehicle. Some of the older ones, had a key lock on the dash where you could turn the pass airbag on or off. The newer ones its automatic. If you don't have anything on the passenger seat, then look in your owners manual for deactivating the passenger air bag

What if the passenger is a 97 lb 26 year old?

Well had ford look at air bag seat light was on wires under seat got separated somehow fixed wires all better dash light out
