bogging down or dying when i press accelerator

when i come to a stop light the rpm's will bounce around then eventually die. also when i press down the accelerator i it bogs down and eventually goes or dies, just spent 1850 to fix the tranny amd they couldn't get the timing because of the engine probems. help me if ya can

could be a lot of things...but if it started doing it after the transmission repair, I would say tourque converter clutch, in which case you would need a new tourque converter.
