It's called a temperature blend door, look up an HVAC diagram for your car to see where it is located or how to access it. It may be a failed actuator or control. If you have extreme cold in your area you may also want to check the coolant, if it's not rated for extreme cold temps, part of your cooling system or heater core may have frozen. Finally also check if you have a heater hose valve that opens to let coolant to the heater core.
