How to replace fan when can't get it out due to radiator won't move

Asked by GuruTVLG3 Jun 21, 2018 at 06:36 PM about the 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring Convertible FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 07 pt cruiser turbocharger and trying to replace the fan but but radiator
won't move due to transmission cooler attached to the front therefore the
radiator won't move enough to get the fan out

I doubt the AC condenser or the transmission cooler is actually attached to the radiator. For most cars you can remove the radiator bolts and pull the radiator straight up after disconnecting the hoses and the transmission cooler hoses on the bottom tank.

Do you undo the fan bolts first? (Upper and lower). You should still be able to to the rad forward and get the fan out. Pt cruisers are very difficult to work on even when non- turbo, wait until it time to change the alternator.....
