what would cause a radiator hose to blow off bottom radiator when it gets hot

How old is the hose ? Could have been a weak spot in hose or could have been rubbing against a belt or part of the vehicle that just rubbed it until it broke or radiator cap could be faulty building up to much pressure in radiator causing hose to burst.
