throttle sticks in the idle position

2001=NO cable, but a paddle with a potentiometer in it. the computer says "it's cold" lets Idle at say 1200 RPM until operating temperature is reached...then it says aaah~ 185 degrees, time to relax...have a beer....achem no, drop down to say 850 RPM~ that is what is supposed to happen...perhaps the temp sensor is Ka-flooey~?
