One interior light remains on even when the doors are closed.

When the doors are closed, one of the interior lights above the front passenger
seat stays on. As a result, I have to disconnect the battery.

did you try switching it off using the switch located near the light?

If the switch has failed you can always remove the bulb. Disconnecting the battery can and will cause you Electronic control systems malfunctions.
