Choke after Timing chain replacement

Asked by Guru9ZTRRY Nov 30, 2020 at 09:45 PM about the 2007 Ford Expedition XLT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had my timing chain replaced, but after the
replacement my car chokes in higher RPM and
cannot pass 3k RPM on neutral. When you press
on the paddle it dose nothing once you get to 3k
RPM?
My check engine light is not turning on and
therefore my mechanic says that he cannot do a
thing until it is back on .
If you could tell me please what is the problem and
what should I do?

I'd have to agree with f_o_r. Get timing checked. If not there, I'd look at the fuel lines or catalytic converter and exhaust for something being plugged up and restricting flow

Thank you!, but in any of these cases shouldn’t the check engine light come on and guide me in the right direction to the problem?

I had a plugged up cat on one side of my Expedition and never had a CEL warning. I knew by the way it drove what the problem was. I had a muffler shop confirm it with a back pressure test.
