Timing chain replacement?

My 1995 Mustang GT 5.0 HO L. has 232,000 miles on it... having some idle
and surging issues. Have replaced everything else that could cause this. What
are the symptoms of a wore out timing chain?

take the timing chain cover off and see if the timing chain is stretched out if so the car want start it will just speed over ,that's how you see if the timing chain is stretched or not
