Tacoma transmission

I just bought a 99 Tacoma as is it has no reverse, and when
I put it into nutral it drives forward like it's in drive. I need
some help. I've been told so many things it could be but I
wanna get some input from everyone. it's the 2wd
prerunner edition 4 cylinder 2.7L .

hows the fluid condition and level? have you serviced the transmission? If its dirty,low and never been serviced it probably has a internal problem.
