Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was trying to install an Aux Adapter I bough a few days ago. While taking out the radio, I accidentally pulled the face off from the rest of the radio. My question am I able to just buy this part not sure what its called some sort of cable/ribbon/film?

Ouch. That's a loom. Connects the controls to component. 9th Generation Corollas don't have removable faceplates, or anti-theft locks, (I have a '06) and the loom looks OK, but the problem is re-attaching it. Forget dealer, they will just want to sell you a new radio/CD player.Take it to an auto-audio shop, one that does car stereos. They might be able to re-attach it. Hopefully.

Is it possible to buy another loom? I might have damaged it while attempting to insert back in. Yes, the dealer most likely would try to sell me a whole radio.

Not sure on that. Again, not dealer, they don't even have internal parts like that. Man I wish I had a better suggestion, but it's definitely a job for an expert.

Agree with Fordnut, don,t think dealer can get that,it is the ribbon harness that tie,s the digital wiring into the stereo face plate to stereo, you would probably have better luck finding a another donor stereo off ebay,or your local salvage yard.

I got a 2005 and have same prob. Try the manufacturer of your factory unit. I know that Pioneer, JBL, and Panasonic have made units for 2003-2008 models. Just figure out which brand and then contact them direct for replacements.
