Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I turn the key and nothing happens. I have power but no dashboard lights. I turn
the key no starter noise. They tried grounding the car and still won't start.
They can't check the computers because no dashboard lights. Possible ignition
switch?

A catastrophic failure such as this is going to be battery related. Make sure the battery cable connections are clean and tight at both ends. Make sure the wiring down by the starter is in good condition and no fuseable links are burned out. Charge and load test the battery. With the vehicle completely dead it's not going to be the ignition switch. Your headlights, horn, and brake lights are not wired through the ignition switch. Hope that helps! Jim
