Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The car sat for 1.5 years. Guy we got it from said reason he parked it was BC it
overheated. Fuel pump was locked up, dead gas. We put a new fuel pump, fuel
filter, water pump, thermostat in. New battery. It will start n die almost instantly.
Give it a lil gas when it starts n it will idle up then die. Changed tps, mass airflow
sensor, intake air control valve, cam sensor. Still does the same. Tried 2
different relearn procedures, still same. We cleaned all the dead gas out of tank
n put 5 gallons fresh gas in it. Got fresh gas coming out of fuel test port. The
theft system light on instrument panel comes on after about 5 seconds of
turning key to on position n it stays on n stays solid. Until u crank it again. It will
then go off n come back on after about 5mseconds of the key being back in the
on position. All fuses n relays checked. Its like the injectors get shut down to
keep fuel out. What can it be? I'm using the original key....

You have a security system problem. I suspect your key or the lock cylinder.

That's kinda what I was thinking. I called to get a price on one this eve but the commercial counter was closed. Guess I will go down in the morning n get one n try it. Thanks for replying....

I changed thekey n tumbler n it didn't help. Did the same thing. I then tracked down the computer under the dash. 1st one I've ever seen in a plastic case u can take apart n look at the guts. So I took it apart n looked at it. Once I took the mother board out of it, I flipped it over n instantly saw where it was black n burnt. So the computer is fried. Thanks for trying....

I was thinking that was the computer but it was the body control module. Replaced it, no dice. Next step, computer. Its a blank so I have to have it towed to the dealer to be programed. If that don't work, I don't know what it could be....

The engine turns over but it will not fire it will not start messenger there's no electrical to the spark plugs or not firing there is no fire to the spark plugs what would be the problem

GURUL3FX, check to see if u have power going into the coil packs. If u do, get a new coil pack n try that. Change the wires 1 at a time so u dont get em mixed up. If u dont have power goin into them, check ur fuses n relays....
