Asked by rkollitz Jun 30, 2018 at 02:03 PM about the 1998 Chevrolet Express G2500 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Doing repairs on vehicle. Vehicle able to start and run prior to work (radiator
shroud). Battery was connected. During the shroud replacement the power
cable to the fuse relay center pulled loose and grounded out (possible
reverse current?). After cable reinstall vehicle will crank but not start. No fuel
pump noise (just replaced), no spark. Checked all fuses and replaced starter
and fuel pump relay. still no joy...

Check distributor and plug wires if you have no spark first place to start is distributor and distributor button

It's in the electronics...something common to ignition and fuel pump relay. Perhaps a diode or other module that I have not covered yet...
