2004 Chevy express van 2500 no heat

Asked by USAFAMMO Jan 11, 2016 at 05:48 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Express 2500 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a Chevy Van with no heat. Long story.
Started with the A/C in the summer. It would only
come on if i hit a bump in the road. The jolt must
have done something. That went on for a while.
Now in the winter it's the heat. As long as I'm giving
it gas, I feel a little heat from the vents. As soon as I
let off of the gas, the little bit of heat stops. I am
obviously not a mechanic, but am also short on
money and I'm hoping it is something simple. I
checked the fuzes and they are fine. Thank you for
taking the time to read this.

First check anti freeze level if ok replace thermostat and also make sure the radiator fan is coming on. If ok cooling system may need to be flushed. When possible clean radiator coils or if A.C condenser sets in front of radiator clean coils with a garden hose and nozzle to remove dirt and bugs that maybe restricting air flow across coils.

I will check that. Thank you very much. But would that solve why the fan doesn't blow at all, no matter what the setting is? Low, med, high...nothing. I'm trying to find a picture of what the blower moter looks like to see if it is just a loose connection.

If blower motor is not blowing definitely have to check to see if it is the blower motor or switch that is bad. Google how to replace blower motor on the year , make and model of your vehicle maybe a video on how to change blower motor. Once you get to blower motor will have to test with a test light to see if motor is getting power.
