How to turn off 2006 passat radio from skipping empty stations

I want to know how to get to an empty station so i can use my fm transmitter without
heavy static.

The lower right control knob should be labeled SCAN TUNE. If you push it, the radio scans to the next signal strong enough to receive. If you twist the knob it should allow you to move along the frequency band to a desirable freq. Be sure your FM transmitter is on and squawking. Once you have a decent channel, save it as a preset by hold the desired preset button down until in beeps.
