why does Passat hesitate to excellerate after stopping

I rented a Passat for a trip. was not warned about this car's hesitation when excelllerating
onto a ramp. With cars screeching to a halt behind me the Passatt just dug in and
refused to  move forward.  This kept occuring each time I stopped and needed to
proceed.  This is going to get someone killed or at least a bad whip lash. Is this problem
just a Passat worry or was it just the car I rented.

it's a rental car! don't worry, be happy- The agency will be liable for not maintaining their cars properly

Thanks for the quick response. But I feel "rental" is not the problem. A neighbor said it had something to with the transmission or gas saving : Uh-huh he did, with a straight face.

I just bought a posada 2016 and I'm having that hesitation problem I got caught under a light and I had traffic coming down on me on a green it was scary I think I'm taking this back and we'll have to have it trade it in I'm not dealing with this in two years and they're going to get me for thousands of dollars I'll get this on the record right now
