What is wrong with my 2002 Volkswagen Beetle?

Asked by Danni_leal9 Jan 05, 2015 at 02:31 AM about the 2002 Volkswagen Beetle Turbo S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The buttons on my key stopped
working, so I have to be using my
key to open the car, but every time I
do open the car with my key the
emergency lights go off. I am able to
turn on the car, but the emergency
lights stay on for about a minute.
This has been going on for months
now and I don't want to take it to a
mechanic because I don't want to
pay a lot of money.
