I have a 2002 vw bettle, the last 2 months it's been acting up. Seems more when it's cold, when I first start the car in the morning it has a ruff idle, when I give it gas it's back firing?

this is either your maf or spark plugs. The maf has been known to cause a rough idle in vw's and audi's but also fouled plugs will cause the same thing. Using the wrong octane of gas can cause the plugs to foul out and also cheap plugs can foul out jsut as easy as well in vw engines. Get yourself some of hte best bosch plugs you can get and some maf sensor cleaner. should clean the bad idle up. and also put some supreme or higher gas in your car to make sure it does not foul your plugs. *do not use the ocatne boost products in regular gas you might as well be pouring acid in your tank with a vw. get gas thats already a high octane.*
