I own a 99 model Volkswagen beetle. I park my car at an incline where I live and it's been dying when I pull up these last few days. Can anyone give me a clue as to why?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The first time it died we thought it
was out of gas, but it said I had a
quarter tank, and the other times it
just died and the battery light came
on as soon as I pulled up.

If the car is on an incline when it dies and its low on fuel, that could be the issue. Your fuel gauge could be getting a false reading due to the incline saying you have enough fuel mean while your fuel pump could be starving since the fuel is sitting in the corner of the tank. So add fuel and see if it still happens.
