2000 vw beetle cannot start after replacing seized engine with 2nd hand one. What could be the cause?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Engine seized and then replaced it with 2nd hand one but car cannot start. Have checked crankshaft and camshaft marks and they don't align at the same position, so am not sure if this could be the cause. Is it possible to realign the timing marks on the 2nd hand engine
