Annoying and unrecognized vibration in passenger dashboard area

Asked by Aarron Feb 27, 2016 at 12:22 PM about the 2006 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5L

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently, Once my engine has reached its normal
driving temperature, a very distinguishable
vibration or rattle begins to occur within what i can
tell is some where inside the passenger
dashboard. It only occurs when im not moving
during idol, if im parked and I hold down the
accelerator for a few moments it stops, but quickly
re-engages after the rpms drop back to idol. Any
idea what this may be caused by?

i am not familure with any rattles in that area. Perhaps one of your passengers shoved their feet a little to far up there and dislodged a bracket or wire harness. I would start the car get it to rattle then take a look. Might be easier to just remove the seat and lay on the floor to try and find it.
