VW Jetta 2004 1.8 L coolant hose

Hi! Please help! What is this part that broke
off? The coolant just pours out of the unit it
used to be attached to... thank you!

All you need to do is reattach the hose but you should also replace the hose as it does not look good. You can probably cut a 1/2" off of it for a temporary fix.
