2001 Jetta has a buzzing noise in outside rear view with ignition off,causing battery drain

you probably got an exposed wire or bad mirror motor, It could also be a bad heated mirror if you have that option. try pulling the door panel off and disconnecting the mirror and see what happens. i would probably recommended going to a scrap yard and getting a new one would be the cheaper option
