99 suburban security wont reset?

Asked by Pasleyg Jan 13, 2017 at 01:34 PM about the 1999 Chevrolet Suburban C1500 LT RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Will start up then shuts off. Security light is on.
Tried the 3 10 minute reset and more. Wont reset.
Changed a worn ignition cylinder. Security still
wont reset, stays on constantly. Still just starts and

It's probably the security circuit board located under the dash near ashtray. Had the same problem so I pulled mine and found burnt spots on the board. It's a pain to get to.
