2000 sl 500 hard top

Does my 2000 sl 500 have a built in convertible top and does it open automatically.  Never took the hard top[ off?

Yes it should have a built in soft top. It will open once the hard top is removed. The red button on the console, pull it back and if the red light is on the top should work. If it flashes, you need to add fluid to the hydraulic pump located in the trunk under the spare tire. You may need to have it serviced to operate properly.
