1999 SL500 soft top wont close in the rear. Everything else operates correctly. I changed the Battery, reset the windows and it worked once. Then the rear latches stopped attaching?!!? What now?

1999 SL500 soft top wont close in the rear. Everything else operates correctly. I changed
the Battery, reset the windows and it worked once. Then the rear latches stopped
attaching?!!? It sounds like its trying to click in, but never does.... What now?

when the soft top is in its final open position, the limiter switch located inside the driver side soft top compartment, make sure it clicks.
