SRS light on after accident

Asked by Ruiz1134 Feb 25, 2015 at 02:44 PM about the 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 320 4MATIC AWD Wagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Someone crashed into my left rear.
Body shop repaired after sending to
Mercedes to find code. They said
they replaced L rear airbag because
SRS light was on. Mercedes shop
said error code said resistance
wireing containing component
R12/11 and shop told them not to
repair. Now R rear seatbelt will not
work. How can I tell if airbag was
replaced or not and would this have
anything to do with the seatbelt not
working now?

1 Answer

Yes it could. SRS is more than Air Bags. It has seat belt pre-tensioners that tighten up whenever same incident deploys air bags, The actually use a small explosive device to operate, and must be replaced.
