Mercedes c320 2002 can't turn key over

it locks and unlocks doors, windows and trunk but not able to start ignition, the steering wheel locks and key will not turn in any direction

is it a normal key or one of the stupid infrared ones?

just in case, check or replace battery in the remote, If you have to get real close for action, then the battery may be near end of life. Mine works several feet away.

My car died sa for a day changed the reote barltteries ,but car had died the key will not turn ignition but when you box jump the battery it will turn on then dies
