What is the real problem?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I got a new alternator & battery first & then my car
started doing this sputtering while i drive. Now
when i pull to a red light, the car shuts completely
off & is hard to restart unless i pump the gas &
throw it in Drive really fast. & then while im driving,
once my RPM gets past 2 & 3 lines...it revs up
uncontrollably & wont accelerate past 50
mph..where do i need to start looking?

Find your fuel line under your hood and look for a cap(normally green). Remove the cap and press the valve with a screwdriver. If fuel dose not spray out then your fuel pump is failing and needs to be replaced.
