05 Dodge Ram keeps dying

Asked by Dakota Jun 19, 2022 at 06:32 PM about the 2005 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 05 dodge ram 1500 that keeps dying on me. It only
does it when I brake or am stoped and tries to fight to keep
running. I also have white smoke coming out of my exhaust
and I don't know if there connected.

White smoke is never good, usually it’s a blown headgasket. The stalling when stepping on the brake could be a bad brake master vacuum booster but the engine needs to be in working order first.

White exhaust smoke in an indication of a blown head gasket , do a compression test . Is there white goop under the oil fill cap ?
