The cruise control on my 2004 dodge ram 1500 works but shuts itself off after about 2 mins. The cruise control light goes off each time. It only works about 2 mins then shuts off again. What to do?

The cruise control will come back on after you hit the on and off button about a dozen times but only stays on about 2 mins.  What can I do to trouble shoot it?
